PMS Home Remedies
PMS home remedies are a bit harder to find, as far as stuff you simply DO at home to relieve the symptoms of pms. Studies have shown that very often pms cramps and discomforts, all the bloating and wanting to bite everyone's head offsymptoms, are actually caused by diet and NOT by hormones as once thought. I just kinda like that, don't you? I mean, at least if it is caused by DIET instead of HORMONES, we have a shot at fixing it, right?
Things like not eating so much salty food, or cutting back on the caffeine, etc, will help to lessen the discomforts of pms as these all cause your body to retain water and for some reason during pms, we tend to retain a LOT of water. Besides eating chocolate...OH YEAH!, just gimme my chocolate for a few days!☺...
Most of the pms remedies include herbs or vitamins of some sort.
The GOOD news is that you can find most of these herbs and vitamins at your local health food store. have you ever tried Evening Primrose Oil as a home remedy for pms? You may want to!
How to Use Evening Primrose Oil for PMS:
Primrose Oil can be bought at most health food stores and grocery stores in either a liquid form or capsules. It is best to get the organic and cold processed kind if you can and then store it in the fridge.
As far as how much to take can actually vary a bit from what I have found.
Some women take 1-2 capsules daily and then double it for the week before their period and have great results that way.
But I have heard that you can take even up to EIGHT capsules a day for a bad sunburn, so it won't harm you to take a bit more if you feel like you need to in order to stay calm and peaceful during that time of the month.
The beauty of taking evening primrose oil on a daily basis is that it ALSO does these things for you:
- Helps to fight acne
- Strengthens nails
- Creates healthy hair
- Softens skin
- Burns excess calories
In fact, some ladies have starting using the primrose oil as a beauty and skin product so it sounds to me that using the evening primrose oil as a pms home remedy is a win/win situation for most women.
The EXCEPTION to using the oil is for anyone that has epilepsy or gets seizures. For some reason it messes with that, so please do not use this remedy if you are in that category.
